Qualcomm annuncia le sue prime CPU a 64 bit: ecco Snapdragon 810 e Snapdragon 808
Qualcomm ha finalmente annunciato ufficialmente le sue prime CPU a 64 bit, che vedremo sul mercato probabilmente nel 2015, Snapdragon 810 e Snapdragon 808.
L’architettura a 64 bit su chipset per smartphone e tablet è stata introdotta per la prima volta da Apple verso fine 2013, quando è stato presentato al mondo Iphone 5S. Di lì a poco tutti i principali produttori di CPU avrebbero iniziato a lavorare sui propri modelli con tale architettura, ed oggi scopriamo per la prima volta i due nuovi chipset di Qualcomm.
Entrambi i processori hanno processo produttivo a 20 nm, ed offrono prestazioni mai viste prima e garantiscono una esperienza utente e multimediale eccezionale e modulo LTE CAT 6 con velocità di download fino a 300 Mbps. Il tutto mantenendo i consumi energetici estremamente bassi, in modo da garantire una buona autonomia sui prodotti che utilizzano queste CPU.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 offre due CPU quad-core rispettivamente Cortex-A57 e Cortex-A53 abbinate alla GPU Adreno 430, che porta miglioramenti delle prestazioni del 30% e consumi ridotti del 20% rispetto alla precedente generazione. Il chipset supporta la riproduzione video in 4K a 30 fps, la registrazione a 1080p a 120 fps e sensori della fotocamera con risoluzione massima pari a 55 Megapixel. Inoltre, sono supportati Open GL 3.1, il mirroring via HDMI con risoluzione massima di 4K ed il Bluetooth 4.1. Infine, lo Snapdragon 810 introduce il supporto alla memoria RAM LPDDR4.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 808, invece, ha due core Cortex-A57 e quattro core Cortex-A53, il tutto accompagnato dalla GPU Adreno 418. Anche qui c’è il supporto a Open GL 3.1, LTE-Advanced ed all’HDMI 1.4 per mirroring su TV con risoluzione fino a 4K. Infine, il chipset è stato realizzato per l’utilizzo su dispositivi con schermo QHD (2560×1600 pixel).
Sia lo Snapdragon 810 che lo Snapdragon 808 verranno testati sui nuovi prodotti a partire dalla seconda metà del 2014, ma i primi dispositivi ad utilizzare questi nuovi chipset verranno rilasciati solo nel 2015. Trovate maggiori informazioni nel comunicato stampa in lingua Inglese:
